REFINED MAGAZINE offers a mix of thoughtful profiles, ground-breaking stories and illuminating photo spreads. It is our job to make sense of how we, as a society, travel down the strange curving highways
of life. One goal is to juxtapose the intriguing contradictions around us. This is where we dig deep to reveal the stories that are yet to be told.
Our focus is in respect to the vast and exciting demographic we serve, "The Middle Age to Modern Day Seniors". REFINED searches for the relevant stories that reflect their unique journeys, some are entering into their autumn years, others are helping loved ones transition from seniors to elder years. No matter where our readers are coming from, personally or otherwise, our goal is to deliver content that is current, has depth, and perhaps humor as well. Yet is also useful, informative and insightful in the end.
We accept solicited submissions from contributing writers for feature-length stories. Our feature stories run at a maximum of 1,500 words. Features should have at least two to three outside sources. We also welcome shorter opinion pieces, even those light witty, tongue and cheek special column pieces (500 words each), and letters to the editor. Yet all must have respect, integrity and dignity for our readers. Should you feel your piece may fit among REFINED's community, life, and style sections, or in a special features such as our "Ruminations", "Kids Candid Corner", or "Rare Finds" columns, please share your suggestions. However, all final placements and publishing are subject to the editorial discretion of our team.
All content must have balance, be informative, lively, timely, concise, solution-focused and fact- based. REFINED MAGAZINE values our readers that stem from varied social and education levels. Content must respect our cherished audience. We do not accept manuscripts that promote any one product or philosophy. When discussing products or treatment techniques, you should include experiences of person(s) or preferred professional(s) directly relevant to the submitted piece and section it applies to. Never make sweeping generalizations or unsubstantiated claims, which must stand the testimony of already published research or highly credible sources.
All manuscripts should be sent as a MS Word file. Do not fax or mail manuscripts. Do not copy and paste manuscript into the body of an email. All manuscripts are subject to edit for style, length, and substance. Upon receipt of manuscript, REFINED MAGAZINE will either query you for additional information or, if the material is unacceptable, return the manuscript with rewrite instructions.

Our payment scale varies with experience based on the final length as it appears in the magazine. However, rates range depending on content. Those submitted from highly published writers will have proper consideration. Yet all submissions are reviewed and will receive respectful attention.
